Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Beach
A chopper flying over a popular southern California beach abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Recordings shared on social media capture the helicopter beginning to twirl above the shoreline then descending near the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Information
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were taken to hospital involving a pair who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the incident on that day.
Three persons on the road were harmed. Specifics on their wounds were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
